Bio for KennyRP

KennyRP (a.k.a. Kenny Rosario-Pugh) was born in Philly and raised in the Fairmount and Olde Kensington sections of the city. His music journey began at the age of 10 with Guitar Hero, a video game that he played for hours on end trying to achieve expert level with the music of Guns n’ Roses, Van Halen, Foo Fighters, and other famous Rock bands that were available with it. Kenny advanced from playing a plastic game guitar to the real thing at the age of 12 when he joined the Philly School of Rock. He quickly became a long-time member of their houseband called the B-Team up until he turned 19.

Kenny then further developed his musical chops at the University of the Arts (UArts) in Philadelphia where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance in 2019.

Kenny is an up-and-coming artist. He plays acoustic and electric guitar for live performances of Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk, Pop, Rock, Blues, Gospel, and other genres at popular venues around the city. Kenny is highly gifted and his versatility with different music styles makes him a go-to guitarist for aspiring singer-songwriters and for any special occasion or event. In 2019, he performed at the SoFar Sounds music event in Philly with Julian King (former contestant on The Voice). Kenny also has guitar credit on singles by local artists, Janel (“Plus One”), David Emmanuel (“More Like You”), Brett Gray (“Take It Slow”) from the Netflix show On My Block, LA artist and former Songland contestant, Tebby Burrows (“I Know My Worth”), and Michigan artist Hailey Loew (“Alone at the Bar”).

Kenny will also be releasing his debut single in February that he co-wrote with Cordell (Justin McCord, a fellow UArts graduate). The single is called “One More Chance”.
