Covid-19 has been around for more than a year now. A year ago, most countries around the world implemented measures to control the spread of the virus. People were required to stay at home for days, weeks, or even a month. A lot of people lost their job since the economy was affected.

Since most people were obliged to stay at home, they have more quality time to spend with their kids. If you are active in social media, you will notice many trending things to do with their kids, such as gardening, trying out new recipes and DIY projects.

Most parents love to do a craft project with their kids since it teaches them new things excitingly. There are seamless possibilities to how you can do this with your kids. You can start by getting the supplies you need to use, and here are some of the craft projects with your kids that you can enjoy.

Recycled Materials that can be found at home
Look for something that can be reused, such as food containers, empty toilet rolls, cardboard boxes, old greeting cards, and old newspapers are some items you can use. Get some markers, glue, and scissors, and let your kid’s creative mind works. They can make tin can creatures, a flower from a plastic bottle, tin can planters, or even toilet roll binoculars. Who knows, they can make a collage out of it that you can proudly hang in your living room.

    Play with clay
For the project to be a success, let your child’s imagination work. Teach them about the solar system and then make a solar system from clay or playdough. Learning by doing is a hands-on approach to learning, and it’s a theory of education described by an American philosopher John Dewey. It means learners must associate with their surroundings to adapt and learn. It doesn’t have to be the solar system. It’s just an idea. You can teach them any subject through crafts.

    Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking can be a bit expensive, but it doesn’t have to be at all times. You can use any recycled paper, ribbons, or cutouts from magazines to decorate the scrapbook. You can ask your kids to pick up some pebbles, dry leaves, and flowers and use these objects to decorate the scrapbook.

If you are thinking of starting a craft project with your kids soon, make sure they have a craft box with various types of materials they can use. Don’t forget the paper, coloring materials, glue, and other items you think are needed in their craft box.

Allowing your kids to create something with their hands and develop their creativity is a perfect way of teaching them that playing with their gadgets is not the only thing they can enjoy. Getting their hands dirty with paints and colors is the most exciting and fun part of being kids.
