Cover Story Zion — Coach Latimer aka ZionTell us a little about yourself and your family.

The Latimer family name possesses & was blessed with an entrepreneur’s legacy and gifting. Lewis Latimer was my great uncle who created numerous inventions. He was one of the first African Americans hired to work with Thomas Edison. He was the glue that would launch inventions by adding the consistent pieces needed to evolve (like the light bulb).

I am the youngest of two children on my mother’s side and the youngest girl of seven siblings on my dad’s side of the family. I can appreciate the story of Joseph & the coat of many colors; this is one of my favorite Bible stories.

What is your current profession and how did you make that choice?

I am the Billionaire Content & Brand Specialist. Nothing is more amazing than solving problems people have in different areas. This leadership role chose me & I accepted my purpose. (I answered the call).

What are some of your goals and dreams for the future?

Some of my goals and dreams for the future are to rebuild lives, provide platforms for people who have lost hope to dream again, and reach a generation of youth that feel numb to society and far from God. My goal is to make documentaries and reality TV shows. I believe the content I produce and create will expose everyone to real-life stories. I want to highlight stories of less fortunate people who have become homeless. I want to use the money I earn to invest back into these individuals, offering them a new beginning, housing, and education.

What advice do you have for others who want to live in their calling?

The advice I have is pretty simple. Accept JESUS in your heart as Lord and Savior. God knows our ups and downs. He knows the very worst sims we have committed. We can humbly ask forgiveness every day. We can keep seeing Yes, Lord. He loves you beyond your flaws. When we tell God yes, we are telling Satan, our enemy, no.

How do you maintain your integrity in an otherwise highly competitive and sometimes unscrupulous industry, as business at times can be cutthroat?

I maintain my integrity with prayer and strongly believe mentorship is also important. I don’t think we need yes people in our lives, but we need God-ordained people. My core people in my life are Prophet Celeste, Prophet Hector, my mentors, BroDre & Sis Kenya, Dr. Walton, Bishop Eric Lambert, and Bishop Bronner. These humble people have been tested and tried and whose foundation is not shaky.

Would you consider yourself a driven person?

Yes, I would consider myself a driven person, but not in my flesh, but by my purpose. Sometimes, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen to you, so you have to be driven.Obeying JESUS and being led by the Holy Spirit; is not a religious answer. Most people take credit for their accomplishments. They never acknowledge that through God’s orchestration’s wisdom and sovereignty, everyone would fumble but God.

What is your source of strength?

In ten years, I see myself impacting and empowering others for God’s glory in the marketplace and industry.

What type of legacy do you wish to leave?

I want to leave a legacy that speaks of following JESUS (with my imperfections, without excuses), even though it wasn’t always popular. But because of the many souls that are saved.

God has opened up several doors for me. I am blessed to be involved in the following projects:
