Robert Minor, Jr. was born in the Nicetown area of Philadelphia, PA. He has loved comedy since he was that age of 14.
From that age, through a prophecy of his Grandfather, there was no doubt in his mind he would become a great comedian.
Renaissance Magazine featured Rob Minor as an up-and-coming comic artist. In addition, the Philadelphia Daily News featured Rob in their first issue of “YO” as one of their most promising upcoming talents. After winning first prize at a Philadelphia Comedy Search competition, Rob realized that he had something special.
Internationally renowned actor and director Denzel Washington commented on Rob’s comedic abilities stating that he had great talent. After Rob’s performance at the Philadelphia Freedom Theater, Actor/Comedian Tommy Davidson made similar comments regarding his talents. Throughout his tenure as a comedian, he has opened for the late Bernie Mac of Kings of Comedy, the late R&B legend James Brown, and D.L. Hughley, the start of the hit show “The Hughleys.” Rob has performed at the world-famous Apollo Theater, where Tracy Morgan and Tosha Smith were featured acts. He has performed on BET and appeared along with Marcus D. Wiley of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show broadcast and several radio stations across the east coast. Rob Minor has also appeared with Sommore, one of the Queens of Comedy.
After appearing on stages across America, Rob still finds time to minister to young men and women at colleges such as Shippensburg University, Howard University, and Hampton University. Rob is an active member and speaker of LOL – Living on Laughter.
This talented young man found time to appear in Philadelphia’s Film Festival movie, “Supplies Not Included” and shows like “Your Girlfriend Needs to Mind Her Business.” He has also made many appearances on the smash-hit television show “Forensic Files.”
During his time as a secular comedian, Rob found Christ. Because of his love of comedy, it was only a matter of time before he transitioned into a Christian comedian. As such, he has found his true calling. His Mixture of comedy with a touch of ministry has left churches and audiences laughing their hearts out.
