Whether people want to admit it or not, there is something real sexy about having GREAT FRIENDSHIPS, and if you find yourself having a few quality interpersonal exchanges with a group of good comrades, then you are really doing very well for yourself.
People are always believing the hype when it comes to women not getting along.
In this day and age, there is no question that relationships are evolving, or should I say Devolving into exchanges that are bridged through technology rather than face-to-face interaction and/or human sentiments and emotions. As a result we see an influx of the inability to cope on so many levels as it pertains to conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, anger management, and outcomes in everyday and the most simplistic circumstances. Why would anyone believe that the toll on simple friendships wouldn’t be in that same ranking?
At the end of the day, our souls thrive from interactions, connectivity, empathy, and camaraderie.
While we have seen a remarkable shift in the look and feel of relationships, both historically traditional and presently non-traditional, the friendship relationship and the platonic interactions of people not intimately involved still pave way to providing an alternative source of fulfillment for those whom have yet to find themselves joined with a soul mate, spouse, or life partner.
I remember the I LOVE LUCY episode where Lucy and Ethel were performing in some type of variety show about friendship. I am also inclined to believe that culturally, there seems to be a lot of merit on having and sustaining in tact friendships because there are so many television shows which have friendship as its centralized focus, heck, even most of the shows categorized under reality television are about friendships more than about relationships.
I have always personally thought that you can’t really believe the hype of the notion that women are perversely competitive and can’t get along… that no matter what it’s about they will gossip, back-bite, and end up in cat fights before it is all over. And while yes, I can agree, that pettiness seems to be more characteristic of the female nature, so is the bond of ride or die until the end, and in the end, that is all that anyone should ride with.
