Being a working woman and managing house chores is not an easy task. How often do you look at your meal and feel guilty for eating junk or processed food rather than healthy recipes? Well, we feel the same way.

As an entrepreneur, you’re always thinking forward and striving to do better with your business. There are times when your busy schedule can prevent you from incorporating a healthy lifestyle; it can seem as there is not enough time in a day. But that’s why meal preps were invented!

Meal prepping allows you to cook and store meals beforehand, so you don’t have any additional work for the weekdays. This may increase the things you have to do over the weekend, but in the end, it’s all worth it.

Here are some pointers to keep in mind:

    1. Design the menu for the week way ahead of time, preferably make a monthly chart.
    2. Make sure to make a separate list of groceries every week before meal prepping so you have everything at hand when you start cooking.
    3. Clean and chop the veggies and store them in dry containers. It helps them stay fresh for longer.
    4. If most of your dishes for the month use the same base (such as stock, puree, or paste), prepare them, and freeze them in zip-lock bags to make things even easier.

Now that you’re a meal prep ninja, let’s talk about some delicious and healthy recipes.

Baked Chicken w/ Sides of Veggies

Sometimes, the easiest thing to do is throw everything in together and enjoy the outcome (note: this only works for food). Chicken is the easiest protein to cook with since it requires minimal time to prepare.

This recipe can be repeated and used for many different combinations. You can trade the chicken for salmon, shrimp, beef, or any other protein you prefer. To avoid boredom, you can use different chopped vegetables for different days of the week.

Beef Lasagna w/ Side of Salad

There’s nothing easier than making a big batch of rich Italian cuisine and enjoying it over the week. Lasagna is easy to cook and store and can easily be frozen for a month. If you’re not into beef, it can be substituted with many other protein choices that appeal to you. Just make sure to use fresh red sauce for the best flavors. Otherwise, store-bought can be just as delicious too.

    Pulled Beef Tortilla Wraps

Feeling exhausted due to the hectic week and need an easy way out? It’s time to bring out your slow cooker and take things up a notch. This might be the laziest yet most delicious and healthy meal for you. To nail a pulled beef recipe, create rich base matters to flavor your beef.

Don’t be scared of experimenting here. There are many different ingredients you can choose from, from using whole red chilies to adding herbs of your choice. Just make sure to cook the mixture for at least 6 hours on a slow to really maximize the flavors.

Add every dry ingredient to your wrap except sauces when storing the meal. This will prevent the wrap from getting soggy over the week. Add the sauce in a separate small container instead.

    Baked Feta Pasta

Adding some change to the routine is great, especially if it’s as delicious as this recipe. Feta cheese is the healthiest cheese out there that is an excellent source of calcium and protein. This recipe is super easy as it only requires five basic ingredients: feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, garlic, basil, and pasta.

Just throw everything in a baking dish except the pasta and let it bake for 30 minutes before mushing it all using a spoon. Then add boiled pasta and some pasta water, mix, and serve. There are various ways to prepare this recipe, such as using stock rather than water.

    Mason Jar Chicken Salad

There are some days in a week when you don’t feel like eating a heavy meal; that’s when this recipe comes in handy. This vibrant, colorful, and healthy salad fills and provides you with the nutrients needed to go about the day. You can use leftover chicken from other recipes or even bake one quickly using a marinade of oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.

The ingredients here can be anything you like. We prefer keeping a balance of greens that complement the dressing used. Avoid using creamy sauces (such as ranch or thousand island) to keep things healthier. Stick to a vinaigrette or other lean salad dressings. And don’t forget to add some nuts in there for some crunch.

    Zucchini Noodles w/ Turkey Bolognese

Having regular pasta once in a while is okay, but it has too many carbs and white flour that can be heavy on your gut. Instead, trade it with spiral zucchini noodles that taste delicious and do wonders for the body. There are many recipes out there to make the perfect bowl.

If it’s your first attempt at it, start with smaller batches and keep increasing as you perfect the recipe.

    Chicken Freezer Burritos

As you make batches of food, it’s easy to get carried away and make a little too much. Don’t fret, as this is the perfect recipe to reuse leftover meat differently. Burritos can be healthy when paired with the right ingredients. We recommend using black beans, spinach or kale, garlic, and some sharp cheddar. As for the sauce, again, ditch the creamy version for the leaner ones instead.
